The Kettle Sings (v2) — Juniper

Intro

Come in, come in, the kettle sings,
A bluebird knocks with silver wings.
The old oak keeps one door ajar,
And crumbs lead home from near and far.

Verse 1

There’s a ribbon tied around the well,
A brass key hidden where the foxes dwell.
Grandmother says, “Take only what you need,”
While something stirs beneath the reed.

Pre-Chorus

The path bends left, the path bends right,
A lantern dims before the night.
Still, every thorn along the way
Has saved one rose for brighter day.

Chorus

Welcome, wanderer, set down your pack,
The tale has opened; there’s no turning back.
If thunder gathers beyond the hill,
Hold to the kindness that carries you still.

Verse 2

The merry bells grow slow and small,
A tired moon leans against the wall.
The river forgets the words it knew,
And the forest asks what you will do.

Bridge

Wait through the hush, wait through the gray,
Not every spell is meant to stay.
When the last dark feather falls,
A little door will answer calls.

Final Chorus

Welcome, wanderer, lift your eyes,
The first pale morning climbs the skies.
Though every road has asked its price,
Your heart still knows the way to rise.

Outro

Come in, come in, the kettle sings,
And dawn has mended broken things.
