Blue Room Reservation — Mikel Alves

Verse 1

Welcome to the blue room
You walking in
They hit the lights low
Host say
"we been waiting"
Got a table with your name on it
Front row
Menus on the linen
But you’re staring at the little gold card
You laugh
"you really did this?"
I say
"baby
This is only the start"

Chorus

Welcome to the blue room
Got a table with your name on it
Let the band play
Let your waves roll through
We gon’ dance like the floor caught it
Rhode Island night
Yeah
We so in tune
Body to body
We move in bloom
Welcome to the blue room
Got a table with your name on it

Verse 2

Servers spin like dancers
Plates slide out in a perfect line
You taste
Close your eyes
Say it hit you like the first time
I pull you to the corner
Where the spotlight kisses your skin
You say
"I never do this"
But your heartbeat’s begging me to begin

Chorus

Bridge

Little laugh on your lip
You lean in slow
Napkin scribbles turning into "don’t let go"
You say
"this place feels like it knows me too"
I say
"I booked the room
But it followed you" [soft backing vocals: "followed you
Followed you"]

Chorus
