Where the Quiet Bends — Juniper

Intro

Come softly, come near
The gate is unguarded
A thread through the dark
A path not yet charted

Verse 1

You touch the old stone
It answers with rain
A mark under moss
A door without a name

The air tastes of cedar
The floor gives a sigh
Something beyond it
Has opened one eye

Pre-Chorus

Do you hear that turning?
Do you feel the ground?
Every step is asking
What has not been found

Chorus

Follow where the quiet bends
Past the lantern, past the fence
If the hidden place is near
Why does it refuse to appear?

Take my hand, but not too tight
We may lose the shape of night
Leave one question at the door
We may not be who we were before

Verse 2

A pale river circles
A room under trees
Maps drawn in the water
Shift with every breeze

The flute in the distance
Stops when you reply
A nest made of silver
Hangs empty and high

Bridge

No road behind us
No star overhead
Only the slow breathing
Of something unsaid

Wait for the answer
Wait for the sign
The dark has a heartbeat
That nearly matches mine

Chorus

Follow where the quiet bends
Past the lantern, past the fence
If the hidden place is near
Why does it refuse to appear?

Take my hand, but not too tight
We may lose the shape of night
Leave one question at the door
We may not be who we were before

Outro

The gate is still open
The path disappears
A bell far below us
Rings once in the clear

I call to the silence
It calls something back
Then all of the forest
Goes still on the track

Come softly...
Come near...
