WE RUN THIS — Mikel Alves

# SALWA & MY GIRLS
## WE RUN THE NIGHT
*The Bassline Club Mix*

**[Intro]**

*(Dirty slap-bass guitar riff. Snapping fingers. Tight funky drums. Deep female voice.)*

Uh-huh...

You feel that?

That's not just music...

That's a whole attitude.

Salwa...

Where my girls at?

*(Girls shout: RIGHT HERE!)*

**BOOM!**

*(Massive sub-bass drops. Full club beat kicks in.)*

**[Verse 1]**

Fresh fit, new kicks, stepping outside,
Whole crew looking like a million tonight.
Lip gloss popping, confidence high,
We don't chase the spotlight, we ARE the vibe.

From Malaysia to the city lights,
We bring that energy every night.
No bad feelings, no wasting time,
Just my girls and this bassline.

She got that style, she got that glow,
Everywhere we walk, the whole room knows.
Good music playing, the mood feels right,
When we get together, we run the night!

**[Pre-Chorus]**

Turn that bass up, let it ride,
Feel that rhythm deep inside.
No slowing down, we're feeling free,
This is exactly where we wanna be.

**[Chorus]**

**Me and my girls, we run the night!**
Dressed so fresh, feeling so right!
**We love to dance, we love that life!**
Hands in the air till the morning light!

Bass so deep, feel it in your soul,
DJ don't stop, let the good times roll!
Oh-oh-oh, we own this world,
Tonight belongs to me and my girls!

**[Bass Drop]**

*(Heavy distorted funk bass, thick sub-bass, punchy four-on-the-floor drums, funky synth riff.)*

My girls! (Hey!)
My girls! (Hey!)

*(Chopped vocal)*

Run... run... run the night!

*(Bassline solo — let the groove breathe.)*

**[Verse 2]**

High fashion, good friends, beautiful scene,
Living our lives like we're living a dream.
Arab soul with Malaysian pride,
Salwa got her whole crew right by her side.

From Dubai to London, New York to Rome,
Wherever we dance, we make it home.
She's a queen with a heart of gold,
Three little blessings and a beautiful soul.

Love in her heart, faith in her ways,
Still knows how to celebrate beautiful days.
We work so hard, so tonight we play,
Let the DJ take our worries away.

**[Breakdown]**

*(Bass disappears. Smooth Rhodes piano, soft synth, seductive female harmonies.)*

Ooh... we love this life...

Beautiful nights and city lights...

Fashion, friendship, everything...

We don't need a crown to feel like queens.

*(Deep male DJ voice)*

Salwa and my girls...

You ready for that bass?

****

*(Funky bass riff slowly returns, snare roll builds.)*

Where my ladies at?

Hey! Hey!

We run the night!

Say it louder!

WE RUN THE NIGHT!

*(One beat of silence.)*

**DROP THAT BASS!**

**[Final Chorus]**

**Me and my girls, we run the night!**
Dressed so fresh, feeling so right!
**We love to dance, we love that life!**
Hands in the air till the morning light!

Bass so deep, feel it in your soul,
DJ don't stop, let the good times roll!
Oh-oh-oh, we own this world,
Tonight belongs to me and my girls!

****

*(Extended funky slap-bass solo over huge house kick, syncopated hip-hop percussion, hypnotic synth melody.)*

We run it!
We love it!
We live it!

Me and my girls!

*(Bass hits harder, chopped vocals repeat.)*

**[Outro]**

*(Beat strips down to bass guitar and kick.)*

From Malaysia to the world...

Salwa and my girls...

We love fashion.
We love dancing.
We love life.

**AND WE RUN THE NIGHT!**

*(Final massive bass hit.)*
