I Was Just Wondering — Jeffery Horton

Verse 1

I was just wondering, do you still play Bingo
With your mom on Friday nights?
Does she still bring that lucky charm,
And laugh till her face turns bright?

Do you go bowling with your sisters,
Under neon lanes that hum?
I can almost hear the rolling thunder,
And the sound of a perfect run.

Chorus

I was just wondering, just passing through my mind,
All those little pieces of a life we left behind.
Do you still gather ‘round, for those who’ve gone above?
Family reunions, stitched with stories and love.

Verse 2

Do you still bring casseroles wrapped in foil,
To that old church on the hill?
Do you sit in the pew where sunlight spills,
And pray till your heart stands still?

Does your uncle still tell those long, tall tales,
With a grin that splits his face?
Does the laughter echo through the trees,
In that sacred, timeless space?

Chorus

I was just wondering, just passing through my mind,
All those little pieces of a life we left behind.
Do you still gather ‘round, for those who’ve gone above?
Family reunions, stitched with stories and love.
