Lyrics
Verse 1
He comes down off the ridge
With moss on his heels
Big hands in the bracken
Soft as a field
He smells the morning rain
He reads the broken grass
Every deer in the valley
Feels him coming fast
Pre-Chorus
He don’t need no rifle
He don’t need no pride
He just wants the chase
By the treeline side
Chorus
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Quiet on the pines
Then he disappears
(Bigfoot loves to hunt deer)
Verse 2
He waits by the cedar
Where the creek bends low
Sees a white tail flicker
In the amber glow
He grins through the thicket
Like a kid at play
Then he lopes through the ferns
And the herd moves away
Pre-Chorus
He don’t take a trophy
He don’t make a scene
Just a muddy track
And a blinking tree
Chorus
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Quiet on the pines
Then he disappears
(Bigfoot loves to hunt deer)
Bridge
Oh, the owls all know him
Oh, the creek knows his name
When the moon rolls over
He’s back at it again
Breakdown
One big step
Two soft clicks
Brush move back
Then the shadow slips
Final Chorus
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Leaves one print behind
And the whole woods hear
(Bigfoot loves to hunt deer)
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Bigfoot loves to hunt deer
Quiet on the pines
Then he disappears
(Bigfoot loves to hunt deer)
