Blue Room Reservations — Mikel Alves

Verse 1

Welcome to the blue room
Hostess smiles
Says my name
Little card on a corner table
Like they’ve been waiting all day
Candles lean in like they’re listening
Silverware catching that glow
You slide in
Coat on the back
We’re the headline of the show

Chorus

I got a table with your name on it
Right here in the blue room
Reservations for your laughter
Babe
And that look you do
I got a table with your name on it
Spotlight on your sweet groove
Rhode Island nights feel bigger
When I’m saving them for you

Verse 2

Menu’s looking like poetry
But you’re the finest on the list
You trace circles on the water glass
I’m trying hard not to miss
Band is laying down something velvet
Kick and snare right on time
You sway slow in your chair
Turn this dinner to a rewind

Chorus

Bridge

Let the band play on
Play long
We ain’t in a rush tonight
Dessert can come whenever
You’re already the highlight
oh
Stay
Stay
Till the candles burn down low
Blue room turns to our room
When they dim those lights just so

Chorus
